Colson Kelly (aka Machine Gun Kelly) is a rap musician with a distinct style. Baker was born in Houston, Texas on April 22 in 1990 to an German and English Scottish family. His parents were missionaries and throughout his childhood, Baker traveled extensively with them. James Colson Baker suffered from depression and was unemployed while Sonia Alane abandoned them at the age of nine. Baker relocated to Denver along with his father, and stayed there for a time. Baker was bullied by other kids in the neighborhood due to of his poor living conditions. After he was in sixth grade, Baker began to study rap. Baker, who signed with Bad Boy Records in 2010 and released four mixtapes between 2007 and 2010. Then in the latter half of 2011, this Cleveland artist became an international star following his transition to self-releasing mixtapes to signing with well-known label labels. After that, his career increased exponentially as every albums charted inside the top 10.
